Jamie Carragher says Fabinho must start for Liverpool in the title run-in after making a vital impact in Sunday's last-gasp victory over Tottenham. The influential midfielder was surprisingly named on the bench as Jurgen Klopp went for a midfield trio of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner. But the Reds boss was forced to call on the Brazil international with the score locked at 1-1 with 13 minutes to go at Anfield. And the introduction of Fabinho helped Liverpool claim a last-minute winner thanks to Toby Alderweireld's own goal. Former Liverpool defender Carragher said: 'I think Fabinho's possibly Liverpool's best player since the turn of the year, and I think he made a big difference when he came on. It was a big surprise (that he didn't start).'Since he came on, his passing and how he wins the ball back - he made a difference - so I expect to see him between now and the end of the season.'It appeared Klopp's side were about to hand the initiative to Manchester City after Lucas Moura cancelled out Roberto Firmino's first-half header, leaving the Reds level on 77 points but significantly behind on goal difference. However, Mohamed Salah popped up at the far post to head goalwards; Hugo Lloris could only palm out weakly and Alderweireld got himself in an horrendous mess to divert it back past his goalkeeper in the 90th minute. It was a narrow escape for Klopp's side, who return to the top of the table with a two-point lead having played one match more, having faded badly after starting so well.
